What I Didn't Expect With Pregnancy

-Not being able to stand for very long without feeling dizzy or lightheaded.

-Having Braxton Hicks as early as 18 weeks AND getting like 10 a day despite being hydrated.

-Rolling over in the middle of the night to find my shirt wet... This early! ( I know, I know. TMI) But I'm still in shock with this one.

-Carrying Tums around with me everywhere because my indigestion is so bad.

-Not being able to sleep. Not because I'm uncomfortable. Because this baby won't stop kicking! :)

-Speaking of sleeping, I did not know I would have trouble breathing this early. Isn't this all supposed to come very late in the 3rd trimester?? My midwife told me some women have to sleep in a recliner. BLEH.

-I have not had a headache in 6 weeks! I did not think this was even possible for me. Of course now I'm going to get one. I am thrilled nonetheless!

-The sudden appearance of stretchmarks. They honestly came overnight...

-Waves of breakouts. I thought I would be over with this in the first trimester and my skin would be GLOWING during the second trimester...?

-Cory says he loves this baby more than me. Cute huh?

And... I'm 22 weeks today.

20 week pics + May & June Crafts

I'm 20 weeks!!! Yay! Here are my 20 week pictures for those who don't live near me. We find out the sex this week!

I have finally gotten around to posting about the past couple of crafts I have done. Honestly, I didn't do anything in May except lay on the couch. I did these two in June to make up for May. And I even broke out my sewing machine for the first time ever! The first one I did was a maternity band found here.

This didn't turn out how I expected. It doesn't seem to fit me right and it seems big. Maybe I'm not big enough to wear it. It may have something to do with the type of fabric I used. I think the fabric is too stretchy and too thick. I may end up making another one and if that is the case, I will definitely use a different fabric.

I also made some adorable bookmarks. I found the tutorial here. I made a practice one and sent another one to my sister Eden for her birthday. Thank you Rachel for the scrap fabric!
I was not too happy with either one of these. Those corners were hard. If I sew in a straight line, I do alright. It's when I need to curve or turn when I sew that things go askew. I wish I was perfect at sewing without really having to try. But I'm not.

To end on a good note, my next post will be on our ultrasound! We can't wait! :)

i never thought i would say this...

I'm ready for Fall! I'm not looking forward to the cold weather. But it seems like after the 4th, things seem to go by really slow. I have been catching myself looking at Halloween and Christmas decorations. I am really tempted to start a Christmas craft. Christmas in July right??? I just can't wait to make pumpkin treats and make Halloween decorations. Maybe a Fall Scentsy will make Autumn come faster? And of course the fact that our baby is coming in December has nothing to do with my excitement.......... I honestly cannot wait for fall to come!

Our Summer Break

Here's an update on our baby...
We find out what we're having in 2 weeks! We cannot wait. I feel the baby move all the time now. I love it! Cory hasn't felt it yet. Every time I get him to put his hand on my tummy, the baby stops wiggling. Here are some pictures of my tummy for your viewing pleasure.

Here I am at 11 weeks.
This is 12 weeks. Notice how bloated I am!
15 Weeks. Finally getting a little something other than bloat.
And 18.5 weeks. This was taken today. I finally have a bump and look preggers!
I would say I got a bump about 16-17 weeks-ish. It is kinda pointy... hmmm.
As for Cory and me, we have been enjoying our summer break. Cory goes back to school on Tuesday. It was so nice to spend the past few weeks together. Besides playing lots of video games, we did a few other fun things...

We visited Carthage Jail and Nauvoo
We went to a baseball game.
And we had lots of playing with this little guy.
Now that I am not feeling so sick, I can start my life here in Davenport. I need to figure out what else I can do besides crafting. Any ideas? Maybe get a job within walking distance?? UGH. More crafting and more reading??? I need something to do! I have done a couple of little craft projects. I'll post about those later. In the meantime maybe I'll try out some new recipes.

For My Husband.

This is a little late. Cory's birthday was a week ago. But I still want to write about what we did. If you don't like the mushy gushy stuff, stop reading now.

There were a few things that seemed to take away the fun of his birthday this year.

-School. He had to study a ton.
-I was sick. Nauseous, headache, no energy, puking...the whole thing.
-He had to work.
-Because we announced my pregnancy that weekend, the baby got more attention than him. Which no one is complaining about. But it still happened nonetheless.

That being said, I don't want him to think his birthday was any less important this year. We didn't get to celebrate like we usually do. But we still got to do a few things.

-We went to his favorite restaurant, Outback.
-We watched a movie together.
-We made red velvet cake.
-Once I was feeling better I got him a new outfit. :)

Even though we didn't make his birthday as big of a deal as I wanted to, I have no doubt he will always remember his birthday this year. He will always have the birthday/pregnancy announcement video to watch. He will always remember what a special time it was for both of us.

Cory,
I love you more than words can describe. You are so good to me. You cook me food, take care of me when I'm not feeling well, you tell me I can make it through at least sacrament meeting (even though sometimes I don't think I can), you put my things away, you do my laundry... I could go on and on. What more could I ask in a husband? You mean everything to me and I'm so grateful for this time in our lives. I can't wait for us to become parents. You're going to be such an amazing daddy!

Happy Birthday Sweetheart.
Love, your wife.
