Carson 20 Month

Carson is learning things so fast!

-He copies a lot of the things we say. Including, "Ah, man!"  "Effff!" (which we are now not saying anymore), & "Wahoo!"

-We are really trying to teach him to listen. Something that is working right now is we tell him, "You need to listen and obey." Which he usually will turn around and look at me and say, "Oh-beh." (Obey) It's really cute.

-He is so active right now! Like more than usual. He's been taking extra long naps and sleeping a solid 12 hours at night. And he also started throwing these crazy tantrums. I don't know if he's growing or what, but his attitude has been insane the past couple of weeks!

-All he wants to do is play what he calls, "Vrahh, Vrahh." It's like peek-a-boo. It started out as that anyway. Except sometimes I would say "Rawr!" He likes to put a blanket over your head, rip it off, and yell, "Vrahh, Vrahh!" He recently came up with different version. He has a pop-up tunnel and wants you to scare him by popping your head in on one end. It's actually more elaborate than that. Let's just say it involves lots of blankets and stuffed animals. The point is, we are really bored of playing this non-stop!

-He loves to brush his teeth. Every morning while I'm getting ready, he stands on the toilet and asks for his toothbrush and toothpaste. He will brush his teeth for a few minutes but he freaks out if you try to help him.

-He recently learned how to ask for T.V. He calls it, "tee-tee." And he asks for it all day long! We have such a hard time saying no when he looks at us real sweet and says in the nicest voice, "Tee-tee. Peeeeees, Mama."(T.V. Please, momma) Since he has recently taken such a liking to T.V., he now has some favorite shows--Curious George, anything with Scout the Dog in it, Thomas the Train, and Chuck the Dump Truck.

-Cory loves to make him say "Treat." Carson calls it, "Teet." Cory laughs every time. It never gets old. Boys. I just roll my eyes. Speaking of which, any time Carson or Dada farts, it is apparently the funniest thing ever! They both bust up laughing.

-Carson loves playing with his friends. He gets really excited if I tell him someone is coming over. His favorite friend is Olivia. They are 3 months apart. But recently he has started beating up on her! He can get really mean! I don't know what to do. Time out was working, but not so much anymore. Ahhhh!

-Carson also has a cousin who is 5 months younger than him, Camille. For some reason, he will seek her out, and attack her! She could be in a different room and he will just dodge to her and start hitting her. Any time she gets anywhere near her, he pounces on her. She is so scared of him. We all laugh about it, but it is really sad too. What do I do with this?!?

-He knows just about every single one of his letters! This kid is really good at remembering--which he gets from his dad. He started counting recently so we have been working on that. His favorite numbers are 8, 2, 5, and 10. He can point those out anywhere! I think his absolute favorite number is 8 though, because he points that one out the most.

-We are still working on colors. Those are harder for him to learn. But he knows blue for sure! He calls it, "Boooo."

-A few weeks ago, on our way to Ohio, we were driving down the freeway when suddenly we hear Carson's sweet little voice come out. The voice he uses when he wants something. He said, "Fyes. Fyes, Dada?" Translation: "Fries. Fries, Dada?" He somehow knew that when we go on longer trips we get French Fries! So of course a few minutes later, we stopped to get him some fries. We couldn't resist that sweet little voice of his!

-Carson loves to dance. Which is really cute because he raises the roof.

-He also loves taking videos of himself and watching them back. He can do that for a long time. And selfies are his specialty.

-He also really loves baby dolls.

He loves dressing in my clothes.
We found THE coolest/most annoying Thomas the Train EVER at a yard sale.
First day of nursery! Which he loves by the way!

He loves feeding the ducks and playing at the park.
One of the parks here did a Candy Land theme for the summer. It is really fun to see all the stuff.
He tries to take Scout with him everywhere.
His first Happy Meal.
His first time ever wanting an ice cream cone. He's not really one for sweets.

And....he has to share some with Chuck.
He has magnet letters. Of which, his favorite is the letter, "O." Because of this, it gets lost several times. But whenever he finds it, he holds onto it for a long time. Hence, why he is sucking on it in this picture.
He loves sunglasses. He will actually keep them on and wear them for a long time. I took this picture at a stop sign in the car. He was just sitting back there with them on being quiet. Thanks, Aunt Eden for the awesome shades!
He learned how to open doors.
Look how he posed for this picture! What a ham.
This is his absolute favorite picture of himself. It reminds me of those awesome facebook selfies of guys posing in front of the mirror showing off their muscles.
He loves the splash park.
We went to the antique tractor show... since we live in Iowa and all. But we mostly went for the free petting zoo.
Mater was there!
He absolutely loves olives.
Carson & Olivia. The one day this past week that he actually played nice.

White Coat Ceremony

In March, Cory had his White Coat Ceremony. It's kind of like a graduation. There was a speech about how great they were. Then the students lined up and shook hands with some people and had their "White Coats" put on them. It was a great mile-marker for Cory! He's been doing awesome and I'm so proud of him.

February Simons Visit

We are so happy Tyler & Ashley moved to Chicago! It is so fun to have family close by. The end of February, Cory went to Charlotte to get some experience with adjusting. So, Carson and I spent a few days with Tyler & Ashley. We had a lot of fun!

Carson 16 Month

-He is saying a lot!
He says, "buhh, buhh." ( bye-bye)
"Huhhh" (Hi)
"Baaaaa" (bath)
"pooh, pooh" (Poop, pooh)
"uhhhmm, momma" (Please, Momma)
"ickk, ahkk" (Tick, tock)
"gung, gung" (thank you)
"Gunnng-gunn gung" (Christmas Tree)
He's got his own language. It's kinda fun being the only one that understands him.

-He signs-- 3-4 words. "Milk," "More," "All done" and sometimes "Water" And it is cute! I don't care to teach him anything else.

-He knows some letters! He knows the sounds of K, P, D, B, O, H, M, and Z really well. Probably thanks to Kidstv123. And his alphabet books. I didn't do much to teach him those unfortunately.

-He loves going for rides on the bike trailer.

-He loves to run outside in the field.

-His favorite food is cheese.

-He is learning how to put stuff away--which is really cute.

-He learned how to go down the stairs by himself! But he still prefers me to carry him. And I give in a lot.

-He loves singing!

-Frequently, he will touch something he is not supposed to, then puts himself in time out. And he will do it over and over. Time out is a game to him.

-He loves lids and putting things in jars and containers.

-His favorite shirt is now too small for him. I couldn't bare to put it away in a box. So I put it in his toy bin.

-He has become a lot more cuddly! He will just come up to us and sit on our laps! We are always really surprised. We love it.

-He will throw anything in the toilet if the gets the chance to.

This happened during my shower.
He's trying on new shoes.
He loves taking selfies with the dada.
He likes to sit with me on the heater.
