-A Note To All-

A few months ago I received an email from Apple telling me they were having some kind of recall of Ipod Nanos (something about them catching fire?) and to check to see if my registered Ipod was part of the replacement program. Huh??? I registered my Ipod when I got it in high school? I never register anything. When I see the question,"Do you want to register your product now, or later?" I always click later.

Well, I checked out the numbers and sure enough my Ipod was included in the recall. Sweet! My Ipod didn't even work--not because of the recall. I think it was the battery. It completely broke down a couple years ago and I have just used Cory's Ipod. I couldn't get myself to throw it out. It was sitting in a tin box all this time. Thank goodness I kept it! So I shipped it off last month and you know what I got in the mail today? A BRAND NEW IPOD! Sweeeeeet!

I went from this,

to this,
all because I took the time to register--which is very unlike me. Now I need to register our tv, washer & dryer, and whatever else I can think of in case something like this ever happens again. Register your stuff people!

Eccentric Feelings.

You know that weird feeling you get when you randomly start thinking about someone you haven't seen in awhile and a few days later you see them? Or the bazaar feeling when you have deja vu? I recently had one of these freaky feelings.

I was holding Carson and he kept pulling this face that sparked my memory of something. (Might I add that he was swaddled up in his blue Swaddle Me.) When he made this specific face he looked like someone--or something. I could not put my finger on it though. I got on the computer to have my daily Pinterest fix. After a few minutes, I narrowed it down to something I had seen in a book. For some reason squiggly lines would pop in my head. It was driving me crazy that I could not think of what this book was! A few minutes later I saw this pinned:

That was it! This is the book I was trying to remember! Who pins this? And how crazy is it that I happened to see it?!? I had that weird, freaky feeling.

Anyhoo, Carson totally looks like Harold--IMO. We have to get this book now.

Carson's 2 Month Update

Carson went in for his 2 month check up today. His measurements were good. He weighs 11 lbs 6 oz now. He is right on track--except his height. He is in the 95 percentile for that one! He is now 25 inches long! He was 20 when he was born. He's super long. It's a stretch to get his clothes on. We've had to go up to 3 month clothing for some items although it looks like he is swimming in some of those. His mama thinks he's going to be a basketball player. He's got loooooong fingers as well.

Here are some new things Carson has been doing:
-He smiles a ton!

-His cry of "Maaaaa" has now turned to "Mooooooom," "Moooooooooooooooom." It is the sweetest thing. When the nurse was checking him today, he let out this famous cry. The nurse looked up at me and said, "He just said mom!" Yep. That's my little boy. She then had to tell everyone in the office what she had just heard. It was adorable.

-He pulls out his frowny face more. It breaks my heart. Picture is below.

-Carson has grown out of his alertness stage. He now must take a nap. No more laying content for hours on end. Thank goodness for that one.

-He still loves getting his diaper changed. Sometimes I change him just to calm him down. Other times I'll turn on white noise. Cory hates that, but it totally works!

-His hair has been falling out some.

-He started this new thing that I absolutely hate. Sometimes he doesn't realize he is hungry. I'll try to feed him but he'll yank his head back and refuses to eat! No matter how much I try, sometimes he just will not eat. He will kick and scream and the second I pull him away from me and lay him down, he starts smiling at me! Little stinker. So I have to wait a few minutes, then try again.

-He doesn't like his paci as much as he used to. He will only take it every once and awhile. This can be a good thing and a bad thing.

Here are some pictures we have taken the last month:

You've got to have a sleeping picture, right?
Mama's sleepy boy
Hoodlum.

Happy Valentine's/ 2 month birthday!

First he made this face............
........Then 1 second later he made this face. The frowny face.

A Year of Crafts

I am happy to announce I successfully accomplished my goal of at least 1 craft a month for the 2011 year.  Here is what I did for December.
Burp Cloths!

These were fun to do!

I made Carson a tie out of my wedding dress for his blessing. I got the tutorial here.
I measured the neck a little small. Oops. It worked out anyway.

We somehow managed to forget to take pictures on his blessing day. Which was a bummer because I wanted a picture with my family! We had to re-dress Carson and frantically take some pictures. You'll have to excuse the terrible pics. The child would not hold still. Also, my wonderful friend Marci made him some pants to wear. Thank you again Marci! You are great! It was a beautiful blessing by the way. Cory did a wonderful job preparing.

Our 1 Month Old!

Carson is a month old. I'm not going to say, "I can't believe he's already a month old!" because I can believe it. It was a long month. Not that that is a bad thing. I sure do love being his mommy.

Here is something I have learned about Carson in the past month--he can lay wide awake for hours! He is perfectly fine with not taking a nap. Once he is fed and changed, he's ready for his day. He'll just look around and lay peacefully...for hours. Honestly.  We'll try and try to get him to take a nap. But if he's not ready, he won't. It certainly is frustrating so yesterday I decided it's not worth the fight. And funny enough--I spoke to my mom last night and she informed me I was the same exact way as a newborn. She said it killed her. I'm really glad Cory is here lots to help so I can get a nap in!

Besides Carson's alertness, there are many other things I love so much about him.
-Every time we change his diaper he smiles through the whole thing. He loves it!
-He makes the cutest noises right as he is going to sleep. It's like a constant moan.
-Once he is done eating, he gets this really satisfied face. Then right after he puts on another face as if he is the most awesome baby around town. It cracks me up every time.
-He is great at burping! It is exceptionally loud sometimes. I am astounded such a big noise can come from his tiny little self. It reminds me of the scene on Elf, "Did you hear that?!?"
-When he cries (which is not very often) he has his lips in such a way that it sounds like he is crying out, "MMMA! MMMA!" Cory always says, "He needs you! Save him!" It's the most precious thing.
-His dimple. He's got one. On is right cheek. We love it! We only see it when we're changing his diaper though.
-He sleeps with his eyes just a little bit open. My brother Trevor does this too. It's always creeped me out. But I find it hilarious that he does it just like his Uncle!
-I love his adorable monkey toes. Those he got from his mama. Just about everything else he got from his daddy.

Christmas as a new little family

Does this post even need commentary?

Carson got a present from his cousin Andrew, Aunt Ashley, and Uncle Tyler!

Carson & The Gammaw
We took him to see Santa and of course he yawned. Super cute though.

Santa's Little Reindeer. 9 days old.
