Carson's Christmas Ornament

I love this idea that has been floating around Pinterest. I really wanted to do it last year with Carson's little newborn self, but we never got around to do it. I thought about just doing it now with his foot, but I wanted his littler footprint. Not the bigger one he has now. I thought about scanning in his newborn footprint they took in the hospital (used with black ink), but I didn't want the ornament to be black. And I have no clue if there is a way I can change the color.

Well, last Valentine's I made this for Cory.
This has been on our fridge since February. Cory will NOT let me take it down! ha ha. He loves it!
Carson was 2 months when I did that--good enough. So I scanned in his little foot and printed it on vellum.

I actually sorta screwed this little project up at first. The first problem was that I was using the matte finish and not the gloss finish of mod podge. And I put mod podge on both the back and front of the foot print. Bad idea! That made the paper crinkle really bad and it just looked awful with mod podge slathered over the top.

So, I printed a new one and looked up the best way to mod podge vellum to glass. Only apply mod podge to the back! It was as simple as that. Then I wiped around the edges with a wet paper towel to get rid of the excess mod podge.

It turned out great!
I added his name and birthday to the back too. :)

Charlotte.

We had the opportunity to go to Charlotte to see some family and work with Cory's dad. Cory was able to get some great practice in and learn a few things. It was a great visit!

This picture is HILARIOUS! I love Carson so much.
Carson had fun playing with the Gammaw
Here's Cory's high school! He recounted the famous story of about how him and Cameron hit some black guy with their car. He even showed me where it took place.
Cory's elementary! It was so weird for him to go back there.
Here's the playground he used to play on. I guess it used to be in a different spot.
And of course, we had to get one of Carson playing there. He is so sweet.

Fall Ohio Visit

The end of October we went to Ohio and it was gorgeous! There were so many pretty trees to look it. We love seeing the Forsgrens and we loved seeing Alana. We are so glad Carson was able to meet his Aunt Alana! We always have so much fun.

We somehow managed to not get any pictures of Jimett or Cameron. We love you guys too!

Carson is 11 Months

-Carson has been quite the cuddle bug lately. We love it because he rarely holds still. And he gives hugs and kisses. He started giving us wet slobbery kisses (which are the best, of course!), rather than just a forehead.

-He took 3 steps yesterday! We were shocked! We didn't even know he could do that because we haven't really seen him do a full step. Then all of a sudden, there were 3!

-He has learned a lot of words. He started saying ball, rawr, blub (that's what a fish says). And I got him to say ruff one time. He tries to say book, but he's not quite there. He knows SO many words! I'm always surprised at how much he understands. He knows paci, blankey, train, car, book, water, treat, bye-bye, airplane, owl, and more. I'm just too lazy to record them all.

-Carson also has his own language that sounds like German or Swedish. It's adorable to listen to.

-His favorite animal is a puppy dog. He gets soooo excited when he sees one. Even a picture.

-I have been weaning him from nursing the past couple of weeks. He has only wanted to nurse a couple of times. So it hasn't been that bad of a transition. (crossing my fingers that I'm not jinxing myself right now!) He won't take formula. So I've been trying so hard to get him to drink lots of milk during the day. We've been giving him crackers to make him thirsty. He would much rather have water and boy does he know the difference!

-2 more teeth popped through. He's got 8 now! Hence why I stopped nursing....

-Cory and I were talking and we agreed that we are both ready for him to start walking and understanding more. We think each baby stage is just long enough. By the end of one stage we are ready for the next!

Palmer Halloween Party

We had fun at the Palmer trick-or-treat--even though we LOST! BOO!

We were a bubble bath!
We lost to the baby dressed as a dragon--Palmer's mascot. So of course he had to win. We still had fun though!

He looked so cute crawling around.
Did you know there is such a thing as printing and ironing?? We did a little copy and paste if you know what I mean...
After we ripped his costume off, he went straight for his candy. We love this picture! Ha ha ha! So cute!

Pride of the Wapsi

The pumpkin patch!
The boy loves goats.

Niabi Zoo

We went to the zoo and Carson loved it!

We fed the giraffes!
They have some of the birds flying around in the building you walk through--which was a little scary for me.
While we were there, one of the lions started fighting another lion! It was crazy because we were only a few feet away. This lion rawred soooooo loud! I got scared! But it was way cool.
