Valentine's 2013

Valentine's was perfect.
I made Cory a steak dinner.
He got me some movies tickets.
Carson got some M&M's.
We got to watch Downton Abbey together.
Perfect night.

Although, the dinner was the day after Valentine's because Cory was sick... It was still great!

He's trying to stuff as many in his mouth as he can. Yes, those are baseball pants he is wearing. They are super cute! He has a whole outfit to go with them.
My mantle? I love how it turned out. Thanks Cory for the flowers!

Carson's 14 month update

Carson is 14 months already.

Here's an update on him.
-He tries to mimic everything we say! He's getting better at pronouncing words. His favorite word right now is, "uh-oh."

-He runs! Everywhere.

-He has a favorite shirt. Weirdo.

-He blows kisses and folds his arms for prayers--which is so adorable!

-He loves to play with his friend, Olivia! He's getting close to saying her name!

-He's obsessed with the vacuum. I can't say that word around him or he expects me to get it out.

-He throws everything in the trash can. We're trying to figure out what to do about that.

-He's such a busy body! He is constantly running and getting into everything!

-He started singing! It's more like a hum. Every night I sing to him right before I put him to bed. And he sings with me. It's the most precious thing!

-His favorite song is, "Jesus wants me for a Sunbeam."

-He also LOVES One Direction. He could watch their music videos all day!

-He loves Thomas the Train still.

-He started dancing. It's so stinkin' cute.

-He copies his dad with everything! Brushing his teeth, putting on lotion... etc.

-He loves playing with my bras. He even tries to put them on. I need to get a picture of that.

-He LOVES tomatoes!!!

-He's got so many teeth! I've lost count. But I know he has his bottom molars and some canines are now coming in.

-Boy is he getting harder though! He is a lot of fun! But he also throws tantrums and that is not fun. Especially in public. He's still sweet though. I'm going to read up on Toddler Wise to see if I can get any help. Cory and I were saying how much easier he was as a baby.  This toddler stuff is crazy! Fun but crazy!

Here are some 1 Year Pictures. Thanks, Marci! :)
He had a pretty hard time smiling...
Our mullet baby

We have since cut his hair!
He love walking, crawling, running, with a blanket over his head.
His favorite shirt.
Watching 1D. Like his mullet???

Christmas 2012

We had our own little Christmas this year. Carson did great with ripping his presents open. It was super cute! He loved getting some new toys. We played with his new stuff all day long. And he really likes the M&M's he found in his stocking!

And here we are on New Year's Eve, lounging away. A couple of Carson's favorite foods are cheese and deli meat. So he especially liked our cheese and crackers tray. Notice how he grabbed all the turkey at once.

Carson Turned One!

Carson had a great birthday. He is so sweet and we are so happy he is in our family. Here are some pictures of his day.
I had to hurry and stop him from touching the flame.
This is the most daring he got.

He's grown so much!

-Oh how he's been turning into a toddler. If we take away something he wants, he gets so pissed! He kicks and screams.

-He has been drinking more milk! Even though he still barely drinks any in our pediatrician's eyes, we've made big progress!

-He's walking everywhere! Sometimes he sneaks up on me and it really freaks me out. He really started walking a few days after his birthday. He still falls All. The. Time. He's got bruises everywhere! Poor thing.

-His favorite food is beans & rice. Ashley's recipe. :) And he LOVES cheese!

-He recently started opening cupboards and pulling everything out!

-He tries to say "duck." (He loves his rubber ducky) And he has kinda said, "Santa" a couple of times.  I love it when he says that! His favorite word though is, "DADA!" He only says, "Mama," if he needs something or is sad.

-If Cory goes upstairs, Carson gets very concerned and waits at the bottom of the stairs and yells, "Dada!" until he comes back. He loves his Dada.

-It is suddenly SO hard to get this kid to smile on demand. He won't do it. No matter what you do, he'll just stare at you.
We took these at JCP in November. I thought I would share a few.
After the blizzard, Cory took Carson outside to get the mail. We were too lazy to get him bundled up so we put him in my hoodie. It was hilarious watching him walk around in that!
When he's done, he throws his food everywhere!
He is precious.
He's really good at Facebook shots.

Carson's Christmas Ornament

I love this idea that has been floating around Pinterest. I really wanted to do it last year with Carson's little newborn self, but we never got around to do it. I thought about just doing it now with his foot, but I wanted his littler footprint. Not the bigger one he has now. I thought about scanning in his newborn footprint they took in the hospital (used with black ink), but I didn't want the ornament to be black. And I have no clue if there is a way I can change the color.

Well, last Valentine's I made this for Cory.
This has been on our fridge since February. Cory will NOT let me take it down! ha ha. He loves it!
Carson was 2 months when I did that--good enough. So I scanned in his little foot and printed it on vellum.

I actually sorta screwed this little project up at first. The first problem was that I was using the matte finish and not the gloss finish of mod podge. And I put mod podge on both the back and front of the foot print. Bad idea! That made the paper crinkle really bad and it just looked awful with mod podge slathered over the top.

So, I printed a new one and looked up the best way to mod podge vellum to glass. Only apply mod podge to the back! It was as simple as that. Then I wiped around the edges with a wet paper towel to get rid of the excess mod podge.

It turned out great!
I added his name and birthday to the back too. :)

Charlotte.

We had the opportunity to go to Charlotte to see some family and work with Cory's dad. Cory was able to get some great practice in and learn a few things. It was a great visit!

This picture is HILARIOUS! I love Carson so much.
Carson had fun playing with the Gammaw
Here's Cory's high school! He recounted the famous story of about how him and Cameron hit some black guy with their car. He even showed me where it took place.
Cory's elementary! It was so weird for him to go back there.
Here's the playground he used to play on. I guess it used to be in a different spot.
And of course, we had to get one of Carson playing there. He is so sweet.

Fall Ohio Visit

The end of October we went to Ohio and it was gorgeous! There were so many pretty trees to look it. We love seeing the Forsgrens and we loved seeing Alana. We are so glad Carson was able to meet his Aunt Alana! We always have so much fun.

We somehow managed to not get any pictures of Jimett or Cameron. We love you guys too!
